The Hello! Project International Section idol group Happy Jikan have been holding auditions for the group since 2000, the most recent one taking place in 2014 (9th Generation).
Information[]
Auditions are held to find and add new members to Happy Jikan, that could potentially benefit the group a lot. For example, the sixth generations had the most girls picked (with a total of eight) because at the time, Happy Jikan had only three active members.
Requirements[]
In order to join Happy Jikan,there is a set of requirements to do in order to be chosen for the group:
- Must be between the ages of 10 and 17
- Females Only
- Must be of Chinese or Taiwanese decent
- Legal gaurdian must be aware of your participating in the audition.
- Must move to Japan in a minimum of 2-6 months,but somewhere in the following prefectures:
- Tokyo
- Kanagawa
- Saitama
- Chiba
- Any later to move into Japan can result in contract issues or having to live with another member for a period of time.

- During the audition, the participant's Japanese pronounciation was tested by doing the monolouge part in Shabondama, in addition to singing it.
- Zeng Yun participated in both the sixth and seventh generation auditions, having left the sixth generation and went on hiatus due to threats.
- During the eighth generation auditions, the auditionees were able to pick out of a choice of two which songs they wanted to sing/dance.
Trivia[]
- Although most Hello! Project auditions don't do this, Up Front PROMOTION themselves pay for the auditionees (usually during the third round) to be able to come to Japan.
